Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
If you're reading this, you're probably someone who is accustomed to working hard, pushing through challenges, and holding yourself to a high standard. Yet despite your effort and preparation, you may be finding that anxiety, burnout, self-doubt, or a stress response is getting in the way.
You don't have to navigate that pressure alone, and meaningful change doesn't always require years of therapy.
I'm Jennifer Yi Iseri, a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Since 2010, I've had the privilege of helping students, professionals, and adults overcome anxiety, recover from complex trauma, and perform more consistently under pressure.
My interest in performance anxiety and high achievement comes from personal experience. I attended a highly competitive high school ranked the #1 public high school in California and #16 in the United States. I graduated as one of six valedictorians in my class and was accepted into both UCLA and UC Berkeley for my undergraduate studies .
I understand the discipline, sacrifice, and persistence required to succeed in demanding academic and professional environments. I also understand the less visible side of achievement: the sleepless nights, the pressure to perform, the fear of falling short, and the frustration of knowing you're capable of more than anxiety allows you to show.
That perspective continues to shape how I work with high-achieving students, attorneys, executives, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, and other driven individuals today.
Throughout my career, including nearly a decade within one of California's largest medical systems, I witnessed the value of traditional weekly therapy.
At the same time, I found that many clients would benefit from having more uninterrupted time to focus on a specific issue. When someone is preparing for a licensing exam, navigating performance anxiety, or working through a longstanding pattern, a 45-minute session can sometimes feel limiting.
That's why I built my practice around EMDR Intensives.
Extended sessions allow us to stay focused on the work without repeatedly stopping and restarting from week to week. For many busy students and professionals, this format offers a practical and efficient alternative to traditional therapy.
While EMDR is central to my work, I also draw from more than 15 years of experience utilizing evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT-informed skills, and IFS-informed care. These approaches help clients integrate insights and changes into everyday life.
Many people come to therapy frustrated because one part of them wants to move forward, while another part seems to keep getting in the way. You may genuinely want to study, speak up, apply for the promotion, launch the business, or take the exam—yet find yourself procrastinating, avoiding, overthinking, or shutting down.
In these situations, I often draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed therapy. Rather than viewing these reactions as weaknesses or self-sabotage, IFS helps us understand them as protective strategies that developed for a reason.
Sometimes anxiety, perfectionism, procrastination, people-pleasing, or self-criticism are not the problem themselves—they are attempts by your nervous system to keep you safe. Understanding these patterns often helps us remove obstacles that can otherwise slow down the EMDR process.
Many of the people I work with are exhausted by the pressure to be perfect.
Clients often tell me they appreciate that our work feels both supportive and direct. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded, while also remaining focused and practical.
You can expect honest communication, clear guidance, and evidence-based strategies for managing anxiety and stress.
We take the work seriously, but that doesn't mean every session feels heavy. There is room for perspective, genuine connection, and some laughs along the way.
My goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable enough to do meaningful work while still being fully yourself!
As a second-generation Asian American raised by immigrant parents, I understand how culture, family expectations, and identity can influence our experiences of success, failure, responsibility, and self-worth.
I am committed to providing an inclusive, culturally responsive, and affirming environment where all clients feel respected, understood, and valued.
For clients who request it, I also offer Christian faith-integrated EMDR Intensives. This is always optional and entirely client-directed. My practice remains fundamentally secular and welcoming to individuals from all religious, spiritual, and nonreligious backgrounds.
Whoever you are and whatever brings you here, you are welcome.
